Principles & Elements
September 15, 2009
Today, Mr.Sanger taught us the basic principles and elements when creating a picture.
ELEMENTS :
Line : This picture of a lady is made up of different repetitive lines to form the image.

Texture : This image gives off a sense of rough sensation when it is being observed.

Shape : This picture is made up of different size quadrilaterals in a geometric form.

Shade : Each colour can be made into a monochromatic color scheme, which is basically the different shades one colour can produce.

Colour : These different colours are sometimes found on an unbroadcasted T.V. program to draw attention to the viewers.

Form : This picture shows form because it shows that the specimen have a certain shape it takes on and the mass that can be observed and calculated.

Space : This photo shows a vast space forming around the centre piece, where the space creates a sense of feeling.

PRINCIPLES :
Proportion : This is considered proportion because at the bottom it starts off with a large cube then build up smaller and smaller, which creates a relationship between one part to another by comparing the size.

Balance : This Ying and Yang sign shows a unity of balance in the colour and the shape.

Rhythm : This picture shows a rhythmic pattern in repeating the colours and shade. It also create a movement.

Harmony : This type of art gives a sense a unity because all the lines connect together which give an overall unified effect.

Emphasis : In the picture below, the red stands as the emphasis of the image.

Variety : This picture has a variation in sizes, shapes and tones of colours.

First Blog!
Sept 11/ 09
My name is Melissa Mei Ling Hoang and I'm currently in a Comm. Tech Grade 11 class. I am new to this course, and hopefully by the end of the year, I'll be able to grasp onto an interesting skill I would use throughout my life. Class is almost ending, so I'll be off! Bye bye for now!
